General Meeting Information The Annual Meeting will take place at Symbiosis Law School in Pune, India.  The Annual Meeting is open to all law leaders, faculty, administration, students and judges.  The meeting begins with a welcome dinner on Thursday, November 9, followed by a full meeting day on Friday, November 10 and a final half meeting day on Saturday, November 11.  An optional cultural tour will be arranged on Sunday, November 12 for interested attendees.

Theme Continuation of the IALS exploration of the principles and specific strategies on improving legal education globally.  Study Groups will be presenting the work they have done on their syllabi and expansion on the ongoing reports for each doctrinal area.  Please click here to read more about the IALS Study Groups.

Registration Fees Registration fee includes all scheduled meals during the meeting.  Guests are welcome to attend all social events at the meeting. Registration deadline is October 1, 2017. Cancellation Policy: full refund available prior to September 1, 2017. Early Registration Fee, register by September 15, 2017: extended!

Transportation

Each attendee is responsible for their own transportation to Pune, Maharashtra, India. The nearest international airport is the Pune-International Airport (PNQ). Symbiosis has graciously offered to arrange transportation to/from the Pune International Airport to the hotels in Pune. Upon registration you will be asked for your flight itinerary. If you have not made your flight reservations yet please return to your online registration to provide us with your flight itinerary once you have made your reservations. The deadline for arranging your transportation with Symbiosis is October 15, 2017.

Accommodations Each attendee is responsible for making their own hotel reservations. Attendees are welcome to stay at any hotel of their choosing. Symbiosis Law School has negotiated lower rates at some hotels in Pune. After registration is complete, attendees will receive further information on hotel accommodations.

Visa Requirements Please visit the local Indian Consulate in your country to check for your countries requirements for travelling to India. Please be aware that getting your Visa is a process and may take time to get; for this reason, please allot ample time for this to ensure that you receive your Visa before your trip. We will only send you an official invitation if you marked “yes” during registration. Subsidy Limited funding is available for participants from developing countries that are current members. In the event that a participant or his/her institution is unable to provide the full amount for transportation and/or accommodations, funding is available to partner with the participant or his/her institution to share part of that expense. The Committee will review the applications and make the final decision. Preference for such stipends are first afforded to members of IALS, prior requests and determined on the basis of maintaining diversity of participation at the meeting.
